This Saturday night Agassiz Speedway plays host to the Northwest Sprint Tour for the second time for the track’s annual Winged Sprint Car Weekend. The tight Fraser Valley oval is a challenge for the Northwest’s best pavement Sprint Car drivers, with the tight confines making for nose to tail racing and tight passing moves.
Last year Jeff Montgomery passed Randy Price just past the halfway point in the main event and went on to score the inaugural NST main event win at the facility. Price and Aaron Willison rounded out the top three positions. This season Montgomery comes into Agassiz as the points leader for the series on the strength of five straight top-five runs and one win at Penticton Speedway. Montgomery will miss the Friday night practice due to a family commitment, but will be in attendance for race day on Saturday.
Speaking of Aaron Willison, the driver of the RWR 14 scored his first main event win of 2025 two weekends ago for the opening night of the Quinsam Communications Group Sprint Car Classic. Willison has one main event win already this weekend after scoring the victory at Sandusky Speedway for the Bob Frey Classic Wednesday night. Willison will fly back to Vancouver in time for practice on Friday night and will try to score his first win at his home race track.
Ryan Willison will also look to make his Winged Sprint Car debut at Agassiz this weekend. The NST Rookie of the Year contender grew up racing Mini Stocks and Street Stocks at the track and will look to have a strong run in his 41 WSR Sprint Car.
Also expected to be in attendance are James Miller, who set quick-time on night one of the Quinsam Classic, 2022 NST champion Brad Aumen, and former Agassiz Focus Midget regulars Troy Globe, Sawyer Lind and Tom Weston.
