A third generation racer, James Miller started his racing career with the Old Time Racers Association in the early 2010’s, quickly racking up multiple main event wins. In 2016 Miller moved up to the WILROC Non-Winged Sprint Cars, scoring his first main event win and finishing second in points in his sophomore season in 2017. Miller would win continue his winning ways in Non-Winged Sprint Car action up until the end of the 2022 season, when the team elected to make the move to run with the Northwest Sprint Tour.

2023 saw Miller finish sixth in Northwest Sprint Tour standings after fighting engine issues throughout the season. In 2024 Miller made a big move up the standings, finishing second to Aaron Willison in points on the strength of multiple top-three runs throughout the year.

For 2025 Miller ran select Northwest Sprint Tour main events and scored his first NST main event win at Evergreen Speedway for the Granite Cup.
