Lee wins Neil Montgomery Memorial, Montgomery crowned NST champion

The 2025 Northwest Sprint Tour season wrapped up with its eighth different winner in as many races.

Campbell River, B.C.’s Stewart Lee turned around the Fastlane Racing team’s tough luck in 2025 to capture the main event win at his home track as well as a $10,000 payday as the winner of the Neil Montgomery Memorial.

Ryan Willison would lead the field to the green with Natalie Waters on the outside of the front row. Willison would pull away from the field before tangling with Geoff Wade on lap 19 to bring out the yellow flag. With Willison having to drop to the back Lee would inherit the race lead with Natalie Waters in second.

On the restart Lee jumped out to the lead with Waters locked in a fight with Aaron Willison and Jeff Montgomery, who both rapidly closed on Waters in lapped traffic. Willison tried a move to the inside of Waters inside of ten laps to go but lost the 14 car through the dogleg, sending him into the inside wall and derailing a potential top three run.

On the final restart Lee would once again jump out front, with Jeff Montgomery getting around Waters for second. Though “The Hurricane” would close in the final few laps it would be Lee crossing the line first and earning enough points through qualifying, heat races and main events to nab the Neil Montgomery Memorial win.

With his second place finish in the main Jeff Montgomery locked up his first ever Northwest Sprint Tour championship.
